Manifesto
DENTRO is not a glossy showcase: it doesn’t sell aspirations or promote purchases and lifestyles; if anything, it wants to put them into question.
DENTRO is the bottom of a handbag, the back seat of a car: you never find what you expect there, let alone what you’re looking for.
DENTRO is chaos, dirt and magic, a drawer of dreams for unexpected discoveries and associations, free from the logic of algorithms and big data.
DENTRO is sustainable: issue zero is made from recovered materials.
DENTRO is a self-contained project told in 18 issues. A slow wander within the walls of our homes… apparently. Every issue is a room, container and content, but also symbol and cornucopia.
DENTRO is a 32-page zine that opens horizontally, like a casket of memories, keepsakes and omens. A safe-deposit box for moving into a new era, to observe with surprise – or disgust – the endless ways of living/laughing/suffering in a room.

The anthropologist Elizabeth Fisher and the writer Ursula K. Le Guin showed how gathering, organising and preserving are acts of resistance against consumption, possession and waste.
In dialogue with the thought of Michel de Certeau – for whom objects and spaces are constantly transformed by everyday use – this philosophy of “containing” becomes the conceptual horizon of DENTRO’s editorial plan: an impossible visit to a house/storeroom/archive.
“The first cultural device was probably a recipient […]. Many theorists believe the earliest cultural inventions were a container for gathered products and something like a sling or a net to carry them.”
Elizabeth Fisher

Who reads DENTRO?
DENTRO doesn’t address an audience defined by age or profile. It speaks to people who value details, who are drawn to visual culture, independent thinking and unfiltered accounts of everyday life.
Our readers are curious people: creatives, students, researchers, lovers of small-press publishing, art, objects and stories.
They aren’t looking for a product but for a tool, a free space where they can recognise themselves and be surprised.
They love handmade things, intimate narratives and eccentric perspectives; they read a zine, a fashion magazine or a brochure with the same attention, and look at an old garage and a boutique window with the same wonder.
